CVRD staff continue to work on long-range community planning projects that shape the future of our communities. Newly proposed initiatives to support community planning goals will be considered on a case-by-case basis with regard to limited resources.
For the duration of the current public health emergency, all community engagement events and public meetings are suspended.
The Community and Regional Planning division presents long-term vision for the community. It guides this vision by setting out policies, priorities, and guidelines for land use and community development. Planners implement the land use bylaws established by the Regional Board. The intent of the community and regional planning function and the related land use bylaws is to protect the rural communities' interests with respect to growth and development.
