Plastic bags and over-wrap are not accepted in your curbside recycling totes; however many film plastics are accepted at CVRD Recycling Centres.

Use reusable cloth and woven bags to reduce plastic bag use. Store reusable bags in your car, backpack, purse, or bicycle bag for easy access, or hang them on your door handle as a reminder. Refrain from using produce bags at grocery stores.
Wash and reuse any plastic bags and bread bags you do acquire. Use them for lunches, to carry your groceries again, to line your garbage can, or to pick up pet litter.
Plastic bags & film plastic is not accepted in your curbside totes as they can become tangled in sorting machinery.
Bundle clean and dry plastic bags (shopping, bread, salad & frozen veggie bags) and soft packaging (toilet paper & soft drink overwrap) into one bag and drop it off for free at all CVRD Recycling Centres in the Film Plastic & Overwrap Bin.
