Island Savings Centre Commission Considers Legal Action

Island Savings Centre Commission Considers Legal Action

Duncan – The removal of the maple tree at Island Savings Centre scheduled for today has been delayed due to protestors entering the work site.

The decision by the Island Savings Centre Commission has been made to remove the maple tree. The Commission will be considering legal action and recovery of costs concerning this issue.

To date, delays to scheduled construction work has resulted in approximately $6,000 in additional direct costs, not including significant staff time. If phase two of the parking lot is unable to proceed this year, it will result in significant additional costs.

There will be no further public meetings considering the removal of the maple tree.
