Youth Soccer League

MS Kick Blues
This soccer league is designed for children aged 5 - 10 years (Under 6 - 11). Teams will play small-sided games to give the players more space and touches on the ball. Coaches will encourage fair play and equal time for everyone, with the focus on skill development, team play, and fun.

Soccer registration forms can be found HERE. We need one of these filled out for every player. Please print and fill out, and either scan and email back to Kerry Park, drop off at our office, or fax to 250.743.7939.

If a withdrawal request is received after the season start date, a prorated refund will be given only up until October 21. No refunds will be given after October 21, unless we are able to fill your space with a waitlisted participant. All withdrawals are subject to a $5 administration fee.

Practices and Games

Games will be played Saturdays between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm at the Kerry Park Sports Fields. Start times for each age group are listed on our Schedules Page. U7 - U11 teams will practice once a week, with the day/time to be determined by the coaches. U6 teams will not have a weekday practice. The Kerry Park fields will be used for practices during the fall while south end school gymnasiums will be used during the winter. Practices will start the week after Saturday, Sept 17, and will generally be for one hour on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Opening Day - Saturday, September 17

All players U7 - U11 please arrive at the fields 20 minutes early to pick up your jersey and socks. New this year, we will NOT be collecting jersey deposits. If any jerseys are not returned in reusable condition at the end of the season, a $25 charge will be placed on the family's account. The socks are yours to keep. On the first day all teams will have a meet and greet with their coaches, a good warm-up/practice, and a scrimmage at the end.

For U6, opening day will be used as an evaluation day with hopes of creating balanced teams the following Saturday, Sept 24. U6 players will pick up their jerseys then.

Soccer Gear and Cold Weather

Please make sure your child has his/her own shin guards (mandatory), soccer boots (highly recommended), and shorts. Please no jewelry to be worn. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather. On cold days long-sleeved under shirts, gloves, and toques are all good ideas.

Soccer Cancellation Procedure

Before heading to the fields every Saturday, please visit our Field Status Webpage. Kerry Park Maintenance will decide if the fields are OPEN or CLOSED, depending on the weather and field saturation levels. If the fields are marked OPEN, all soccer will run as scheduled. If the fields are marked CLOSED, all soccer will be cancelled for the day. The page will be updated every Saturday morning by 8:30 am.

Player Requests & Team Formation

While we do our best to accommodate player requests, nothing is guaranteed. The top priority at the start of each season is to create balanced teams for each age group. Requests that prevent this from being achieved will not be accommodated.
